The Qualsafe Level 3 award in First Aid at Work is for people who deal with first aid at work enabling them to be workplace first aiders under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of first aider.
This course will run over three days (18 hours minimum).
We run courses on a regular basis and we can arrange courses to suit the needs of your business or place of work. We can arrange a course specifically just for you (subject to learner numbers) and our trainers can come to your work place if desired.
As a training provider and a private ambulance service we supply defibrillators and a variety of First Aid kits to suit specific business needs. Please email for more information.
WHAT THIS COURSE ENABLES YOU TO DO:
- Enable Learners to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal
with a range of first aid situations. - This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities.
WHERE THIS COURSE CAN TAKE YOU:
This qualification opens the door to:
- First aiders in offices, schools, construction and retail.
- Health and safety support roles.
- Event stewards and more progressive courses like the FREC 3.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
- Assess emergency situations
- Adult CPR and use an AED
- Treat choking, bleeding, burns and minor injuries
- Manage fractures
- Understand infection control
- Recognise and respond to heart attack, strokes and seizures
- Record incidents, communicate effectively and casualty care.
AM I ELIGIBLE?
- Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training and be able to perform practical tasks at floor level. There are no other formal entry requirements but we strongly recommend that learners have a minimum of level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
